SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 1998

After three days travel, and promo stops in places like Tamworth (historical significance), that's where we discovered the hole in the radiator..."excuse me there's water coming out the front of your car!'..."is it green (meaning the coolant, which runs out the overflow pipe when you've pulled up at the lights, which is where we were)?"...looks down at the front of the car...."Sort of. Yes!"...."oh yeah, that's okay. Thanks."  after searching for a place to camp we got lost and pulled into a servo to ask for directions ...and that's when we saw it, the horizontal  *green geyser, a little more of a problem than some overflow.  
Brisbane. made it up to the Glass House Mountains where we found a great camping park  with view of Mount Tibragargan...there's a really good story about that mountain. tell you when i remember it

Hole in radiator from a stone kicked up from a truck, on road under construction, between Gunnedah and Tamworth.
Tamworth Radiator Specialists replace coils while being interviewed at local radio station.

..giving the illusion that we belonged backstage. stand there watching  
Jon, Judah and Russell warm up, tune up & psyche up 
wasn't easy with the heavy presence of those massive security guards, 
but we managed to stay hidden til the encore...'lets have a party'......J.S.B.E
the next thing I knew KRush was sitting next to harp playing Jack Thompson!

played set with peter jones drums mark ferrie bass krush vox & me on the gibson.......heard that someone reported our gig as one of the highlights of festival...found it hard to believe...
strange gig.but good to do

Car Maintenance Report
Universal Joint about to go and, *"tail shaft might come through floor, so better pull off" the freeway just under 100kms out of Melbourne near Tallarook. *Travis Bickle arrives, radios through for a bigger truck, and just on dark, a real beaut bloke with an old Bedford Tow Truck arrives  carries FC Holden, camping gear, two dogs and two, tired band members back to Melbourne......xxx

* Advice from Holden mechanic via mobile phone call to Moorabbin.
* Travis Bickle - Character played by Robert de Niro in 
Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.
